I have 16 minutes left of Thursday in this time zone, so I guess I better get to writing! It’s been a long, full day. My heart is happy and ready for a weekend of fun!
I’m thankful that this gal is in town for a few days! My dear wittle Maddles has come down from Tennessee to visit us for the weekend. We have to have lots of shenanigans and take lots of pictures to make up for lost time. What she doesn’t know, however, is that we’re kidnapping her and not letting her go back to Tennessee. (You think I’m kidding.)
I’m thankful for the BCM. I’m sure I’ve said it before, and I know I’ll say it again, but it’s just so true! The BCM is where I have met most of my close friends here in college. I’ve been pushed and challenged and given opportunities to travel and also been able to pour into and love on freshmen. There’s quite a place in my heart for freshman girls! Tonight, we celebrated our director’s birthday. Tomorrow, he’ll be 55 years young! He does so much for the BCM and really has a part for students. Happy Birthday Steve!
I’m thankful that I know where my hope lies. If I didn’t know that my hope and future is in God, I would be such a mess right now. As application time for medical school approaches, many of my classmates are stressed-out disasters. I would not want to be in their shoes for anything!
I’m thankful for good, Southern cooking. So I didn’t make a whole meal, but I made a whole pot of Lady Cream Peas with bacon and onions earlier this week. It was absolutely delicious and our apartment smelled great! My Meemaw would have been so proud. Now I just need to work on my cornbread skills.
